Iris Photography Consulting

What took us 13 years to learn
you don't have to learn the hard way.

We've operated iris photography stores, kiosks, and mobile events since 2013 — and opened dozens of locations ourselves. We share the knowledge that normally only comes from years in the field, or from joining a franchise system.

Why most operators underperform

The same problems.
In every country.

After more than a decade operating iris photography businesses, we see the same patterns everywhere. Most are fixable — quickly — once you know what to look for.

Sessions take too long
Prices must be high
Hard to compete
Revenue stalls
Efficiency

Sessions taking 15–30 minutes instead of 3–5

Slow workflow is the single biggest margin killer. It limits how many customers you can serve, forces higher prices, and makes you vulnerable to any operator running a faster, tighter process.

Staffing

Hard to find people who can operate at a consistent quality level

Most operators are the bottleneck in their own business — because training an employee to reach a consistent standard takes too long. That keeps the business dependent on one person and impossible to scale.

Competition

Other operators are offering better quality at lower prices

Franchised operators and well-equipped independents often have access to processes, knowledge, and systems that took years to develop. Without that, it's difficult to compete on quality and price simultaneously.

Location

Opening a new location without knowing what actually works

Choosing the wrong footfall location, layout, or pricing strategy for the local market is expensive. Most operators find out by trial and error — a process that costs months and significant money.

Output quality

Inconsistent image quality that's hard to sell at a premium

Capture technique, lighting conditions, and editing decisions all affect the final product. Without a structured workflow, quality varies — and inconsistent quality makes premium pricing impossible to sustain.

Pricing strategy

Under- or over-pricing for the format and market

Pricing iris photography is not intuitive — the right structure depends on format (kiosk, studio, event), location, and volume. Most operators either leave money on the table or price themselves out of the market.

Our background

We didn't learn this from a course.

Since 2013 we have operated iris photography stores, shopping centre kiosks, and mobile events across multiple countries. We have personally opened dozens of locations — handling everything from site selection and layout to staff hiring, training, and daily operations.

We also support franchise operations — so we understand what a structured, systemised approach to iris photography looks like at scale. What we offer is direct access to that knowledge, without the cost and commitment of joining a franchise system.

  • Dozens of retail and kiosk locations opened personally — we know what works before you sign the lease
  • Structured staff training programmes that get people productive fast, without relying on you
  • Workflow optimisation that reduces session time from 15–30 minutes to under 5
  • Location and market assessment across different formats: mall kiosks, studios, pop-ups, and events
  • Pricing strategy tailored to your market, footfall, and competition
  • Equipment and software configuration for the fastest, highest-quality output
Who we work with

Two types of operator.
One set of solutions.

Whether you're just getting started or already operating and looking to improve, the challenges are well-known to us — and so are the solutions.

Starting out

You're new to iris photography and want to build it right from the start.

The most expensive mistakes in this business happen in the first 12 months. The wrong location, an inefficient workflow, or unclear pricing can cost you more than a year of consulting fees before you even realise what went wrong.

  • Avoid costly location and layout mistakes before you commit
  • Launch with a proven workflow — not one you'll have to rebuild later
  • Understand how to price, present, and sell iris photography from day one
  • Get staff operational faster, without being the bottleneck yourself
  • Know what equipment and software setup actually produces sellable output
Already operating

You're running a store or kiosk — but sessions take too long, margins are tight, or competitors are winning.

Operational inefficiency compounds fast. Every minute shaved off a session is margin recovered. The knowledge gap between a structured operation and a self-taught one is usually large — and closeable.

  • Workflow audit: identify exactly where time is being lost and fix it
  • Staff training restructure — reduce dependency on specific individuals
  • Quality consistency review — capture, editing, and output standardisation
  • Pricing and product mix review for your specific market and format
  • Event and mobile operations — expand your revenue beyond a fixed location

FAQ

Common questions

What operators ask before booking a call.

Do I need to be using EyeCatcher Pro hardware or software?

No — our operational consulting is independent of the equipment you use. We can advise on workflow, staffing, location, and business operations regardless of which iris photography system you have. That said, if you are using the EyeCatcher Pro system, we can provide more specific guidance on getting the most out of it.

We already have an established operation. Is there still value for us?

Yes — and often more so than for operators just starting out. Established operations have real data we can work with: session times, staff performance, revenue per customer, conversion rates. In our experience, even well-run iris photography businesses have significant efficiency and margin improvements available once the right things are measured and optimised.

What does an on-site visit look like in practice?

We come to your location for one to three days depending on the scope. A typical visit covers a live operational review (watching sessions as they happen), workflow restructuring, hands-on staff training, and a debrief with written recommendations. For new openings, we can be present for the setup, the first days of operation, and initial staff training — which is when most new locations make the decisions that are hardest to undo later.

How quickly can changes realistically make a difference?

Workflow and training changes can reduce session times within days of implementation — that impact is almost immediate. Pricing and positioning changes take a few weeks to reflect in revenue. Location and format decisions are longer-term. We prioritise the fastest-impact changes first and give you a clear picture of what to expect from each.

Can you help us set up a mobile or event-based operation?

Yes. Mobile events and pop-ups have different operational requirements to fixed kiosks — faster setup, different pricing structures, and staff briefings that work in a one-day context. We've run many events ourselves and can advise on logistics, pricing, conversion, and equipment configuration for that format specifically.

Is this available internationally?

Video consultations and written guidance are available to operators worldwide. On-site visits are possible internationally — travel costs apply and are discussed transparently before any commitment. We have operated across Europe and beyond, so international market nuances are something we can speak to from direct experience.
