Is EyeCatcher software AI-based? How does the editing quality compare?

No — EyeCatcher is not AI-based. This is an important distinction. AI iris photography tools work by capturing a lower-resolution image and upscaling it using machine learning models. That process always introduces artefacts and places a ceiling on print quality. EyeCatcher captures and edits at full native resolution throughout the entire workflow. No upscaling, no quality degradation. The result is prints up to 1 metre and beyond that other systems simply cannot match. The effects are also real compositing effects — not the basic image stamps or overlays used by competing software.

How long does editing actually take?

Editing averages around 3 minutes per image, depending on the effect chosen and any minor adjustments. That compares to 25+ minutes of manual Photoshop work for a comparable result. The interface is designed so any staff member can reach that speed quickly — no design background required.

Do I need to buy the EyeCatcher Pro hardware to use the software?

No — the EyeCatcher Pro photobox is not required to use the software. The editing suite works with iris images from compatible cameras. If you already have a capture setup and want to use EyeCatcher for editing, contact us to discuss compatibility and onboarding.

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. Both Essential and Professional subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. You also continue to own the camera hardware regardless.

What is the difference between Essential and Professional?

Essential covers the core editing toolkit: Photoshop Plugin, editing and enhancement features, text additions, basic effects (Explosion & Bubbles), and 2-on-1 layouts — everything you need to produce professional results from day one. Professional unlocks the full library: all 40+ effects, panoramic and multi-eye compositions, 5-on-1 layouts, auto-print, large-format file export, advanced watermarks, image resizing, custom outputs, and 24/7 priority support.

Does it work on Mac?

EyeCatcher currently runs on Windows (10 / 11). Mac support is in development and coming soon. If you're on a Mac, contact us and we'll notify you as soon as it's available.

How does the 360-day Professional software included with hardware work?

When you purchase the EyeCatcher Pro Starter Bundle, 360 days of Professional software are included at no charge. On day 361, your saved payment method is charged the standard monthly rate. You can switch to the annual plan (saving 15%) at any time — or cancel before day 361 and only pay for the hardware. There is no obligation to continue the software subscription.

Can I install the software on more than one computer?

Each subscription covers one active installation. If you need to run a second editing station — for a second kiosk, a backup machine, or a separate location — you can add extra stations at $49/month per seat on the Professional plan. Multi-location operators can contact us for volume pricing.
